Why go Green?
Two basic reasons have influenced Paramount Drywall to advance in a more eco-friendly direction.  The first is a personal choice to contribute to the overall health of our environment.  Drywall is a large portion of the building process and traditional methods an d materials are not geared towards satisfying “Green” standards.  The second reason is the desire to expand our business model.  Paramount Drywall can be the primary choice for forward-thinking builders who want eco-friendly options.

Our Green Model
In order for Paramount Drywall to offer a Green option, we have coupled training with material research.  Paperless sheetrock and paperless tape are installed with low VOC, water-based adhesive and joint compound to help insure proper certifications such as LEED, NAGB and Earthcraft.

Environmental Benefits
Paper-faced sheetrock is replaced by DensArmor Paperless Gypsum panels constructed with fiberglass mats and a moisture resistant gypsum core to fight moisture and mold issues.  Traditional construction adhesives are replaced with water-based, low VOC, OSI GreenSeries glue and low VOC, water based DensArmor joint compound replaces traditional joint compound materials.  By using theses industry leading low VOC and paperless products, we can dramatically raise the air quality in any project.

Green Facts
According to Georgia Pacific, the manufacturer of DensArmor Plus fiberglass mat drywall panels, DensArmor Plus scored a 10, the highest level of performance for mold resistant under the ASTM D 3273 test method.
 
According to Henkel Consumer Adhesives, manufacturers of OSI brand products, OSI GreenSeries adhesives have reduced or eliminated harmful VOC levels.  Products with higher VOC emissions can result in air pollution that can irritate allergies, asthmatic conditions, and potentially lead to other health risks.

Several states have raised their building standards to incorporate these eco-friendly standards and many other states are reviewing their own standards with plans to follow suite.  Paramount Drywall hopes to be a vital contributor to this movement in the local Atlanta market.
